Texas School 2008 →
I just got my letter for this year’s Texas School. I got my first choice of classes: Bry Cox from Salt Lake City, Utah. I got to see a preview of him and his work last year and found his ideas truly fresh and innovative.
I can’t wait for school!

New Website Design →
Just in time for the 2008 Bridal Show and Benefit, has a new design for our website.
Thanks to Matt Herzberger, the site now has a design that reflects how much we’ve grown over the past year. He also gave the site a much cleaner and more attractive look. Finally, he streamlined some of the tools we have both for our own use of the site and for clients.
Don’t worry, though. All the site...
2007 in review →
2007 whew!
What a mess (and bless) it all was:
As You Wish started off the year with three weddings in three weeks (one bride fainted during the ceremony and was too sick to stand for photos) and then the always-successful bridal show
We had our first garage sale since moving into the house in 2003 and got rid of a lot of stuff we didn’t need
One UNprofessional in the community reared his ugly...

Backstory
Ok, so there is a backstory that some of you have heard.
One day, when I was first working at “REEX”, my boss (and friend) Laine and I kept up with one another via IM. She streamed her music, so I could see what she was supposedly listening to at any point during the day. This gives you a lot of insight to a person. Since they can walk away from the computer at any point (and fail to...

Allison & Dominic LaRocca-Der Tatevasion →
Allison & Dominic LaRocca-Der Tatevasion had a special and beautiful ceremony and reception in Bryan, Texas. They were surrounded by family and friends and tons of love and support.
A very tender moment occurred when Allison’s dad, who grew up traditional Church of Christ and had never danced before, gave his daughter the gift of a father-daughter dance at her wedding.

Aggoe Jokes →
The best Aggie jokes are the ones the Aggies play on themselves.
Just hours after we learned that our new President, Dr. Murano is removing the the VP for Communications (Steve Moore), today’s edition of the Aggie Hotline comes out with a giant typo: “Aggoe”!

I’m back to a small degree.
The day-job deadlines are past. Now, we are just in the aftermath of those processes.
I’m taking another day or so with As You Wish to return messages that came in over these few days.
this crazy week →
OK, so most of you know that my new job came with some giant first/urgent tasks (don’t they always?). But, given the calls and emails I’ve received, most of you don’t know just how giant these tasks were. While I appreciate you all checking on me, I hope you’ll understand why I have not yet responded. After all, I even had to “close” As You Wish for a few days, a rare occurrence—maybe first...
As You Wish - closed until 11-Jan-08 →
My day job is at our busiest time of year with proposals. At the same time, we are launching a new website. Both goals and many of the tasks within them are my sole responsibility.
So, until the dust settles, is closed.
See you all when I can get my head above water!
Duties of an Usher →
Users are an important part of making your day run smoothly. Be sure to select men (and/or women) who are responsible and attentive. Users can be asked to fill any number of roles on the Big Day.
Keep guests out of the ceremony area until 30 minutes before the wedding. This is to allow the couple to finish all formal photography, the decorators to finish last-minute touches, the minister to meet...

Danielle wanted photos in their guest book, but also wanted a traditional look. Her idea translated quite well to give her a traditional product (makes mom happy) with a modern edge (makes bride happy).

Ushers Are Important, Too. →
Users often get the raw end of the deal. They rent the tux, work as hard as the groomsmen, and get virtually no credit for their contribution to the Big Day. If they are lucky, they might get invited to the bachelor party and rehearsal dinner, get a nice little gift from the bride and groom, and get listed in the program and seated at the head table. Often, however, they are forgotten for the...
